Sunday Mental Health Check-In: How’s Your Mind?

Sundays have a special kind of energy. For some, it’s a day to relax and recharge. For others, it’s a reminder of everything they meant to do last week but didn’t. Either way, it’s the perfect time for a quick mental health check-in.

So, how’s your mind? What’s been taking up space in your thoughts lately? Are they helpful? Encouraging? Or are they more like that annoying background noise you wish you could mute?

Love, Respect, and Motivation

One of the biggest lessons in personal development (and career growth) is that self-respect fuels motivation. And to me, respect is simply doing what you say you’re going to do—not for others, but for yourself.

Think about it:

  • Have you been following through on your commitments, big or small?

  • Are you prioritizing your well-being—mentally, physically, emotionally?

  • Are you treating yourself like someone you actually care about?

Self-respect isn't just about discipline; it's about trust. When you trust yourself to follow through, motivation naturally follows.

The ‘Adult’ Week Ahead

A great way to show yourself love and respect is by setting yourself up for a smooth week. That could mean:

✔ Booking that dentist/massage/physio appointment you’ve been putting off.

✔ Planning meals so you’re not scrambling on Wednesday.

✔ Checking in on your job search, resume, or that professional development course you keep meaning to start.

For career growth, confidence comes from knowing you're taking action—big or small—toward your goals. Whether that’s networking, applying for jobs, or just reflecting on what’s next, it starts with simple, intentional steps.

Do you trust yourself to follow through on the tasks you set out for this week?

  • 0%Of course, I complete everything I say I'm going to do!

  • 0%I'm hopeful... but nervous that I won't.

  • 0%I'm feeling good about it this week!

A Sunday Challenge: One Act of Love, One Act of Respect

Before the day ends, choose one small way to show yourself love and one way to show yourself respect. Maybe it’s speaking kindly to yourself, getting to bed on time, or actually crossing something off your to-do list.

Growth isn’t about overhauling your life in a day. It’s about consistent, small decisions that build confidence, trust, and motivation over time.

So—how’s your mind today? What’s one thing you can do for yourself before the week begins?
